Founded in 1994 by master upholsterer James Whitfield in a small workshop in Conover, North Carolina, Blue Manufacturing began with a single conviction: that American-made furniture, built with care and precision, is an investment that pays dividends for generations.
Today, over 30 years later, that same conviction drives every stitch, every frame, every piece that leaves our 40,000 sq ft facility — still in Conover, still built by the same families who started with us.

Three Decades of Excellence
The Beginning
James Whitfield opens a 2,000 sq ft workshop in Conover, NC with three employees and one clear mission: build furniture that lasts.
First Major Contract
Awarded a contract with a regional hotel group, Blue Manufacturing scales to 12 employees and triples production capacity.
Trade Program Launch
Launched the Trade Program to serve interior designers — now one of the most respected trade programs in the Southeast.
New Facility
Moved into our current 40,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility, incorporating CNC cutting technology alongside traditional handcraft.
30th Anniversary
Celebrated 30 years of American manufacturing with the launch of our Signature Collection and this new online experience.
